A New Spin on an Old Tradition

While most of the Building Healthy Families staff remember sitting down after holidays and birthdays to the arduous task of writing Thank You notes, it seems to be a tradition that is somewhat slipping away.  From texts, to Skying to cell phone calls, the handwritten note seems a thing of the past to many in today's digital generation!

This year, why not think about combining the old with the new?!?!! Whether it's Christmas gifts, birthday presents, or any other reason to say thanks, this super-easy personalized activity will give everyone something to smile about.

Ask your child to write a message of gratitude on a chalkboard (or she can dictate one to you) and have her pose with the present. Take a photo, then print and mail it, or, for instant gratification, e-mail it. You child gets to show off how much she loves her gift, and the gift-givers will really feel the love.
